Well, today is Election Day across the U.S., which means it’s your American duty to vote and encourage all of your friends and family to vote … for your blog on BallHyped.com!
In honor of election day, and in response to dozens of emails from our beloved BallHyped fans asking for badges, we’ve created a couple “Vote For Me” BallHyped badges to add to your blog's sidebar. (Oh yeah, and get out of mommy's basement and vote today would ya!)
Over the past month and a half, the BallHyped.com community has gone from unranked to being among the top 325K sites, according to Alexa. And as the site continues to grow and get exposure around the blogosphere, so will your blogs. So help us Hype your blog by adding BallHyped.com badges, share-it icons or good ol’ fashioned link to your blogroll. Email us with a link to BallHyped in your blogroll, and we’d be happy to return the favor.
And if you add a BallHyped.com badge to your site, let us know in the comments section of the badge page so we can tell the world about it and HYPE UP your blog some more!
Tip: If you want to link to your profile page from the badge, change the href in the embed code to your personal URL, so something like <a href="http://ballhyped.com/author/your-username-here/">
Getting Social
If you want to get crazy Hyped, be sure to follow BallHyped.com on Twitter and Facebook. Follow us, and we’ll follow you back. We also mention and link to each and every one of the blogs posted on BallHyped.com via our social media networks, so be sure to RT.
And if you’ve missed our Top 100 Sports Bloggers on Twitter List, please recommend anyone we’ve left off … including yourself (shameless plugs are encouraged on BallHyped)! It’s a working list, and if you or one of your favorite bloggers aren’t mentioned, add a link to the Twitter username in the comments section of the page.
If you “Like” BallHyped.com as much as we do, please spread the world about the list and the BallHyped.com community on your blogs and in the social mediasphere.
New Theme?
If you checked out the site over the weekend, you probably lost your candycorn when you saw the orange and black Halloween theme. We took the theme a step forward with the San Francisco Giants winning the World Series on Monday night, so be sure to check it out.
Don’t worry, we’re not West Coast-biased Giants fans here at BallHyped.com (in fact, most of the faces behind BH live in SoCal), we just thought it would be cool to Hype the World Champions in the major sports each season.
We’ll be back to normal in a few days. Anyone notice the Easter Eggs, err Jason-like goalie Avatars over Halloween weekend? We’ll keep those for a few days, possibly even longer if you like them. We'll try to mix these up from time to time too.
Tip: If you want to add your own image to your avatar, associate an image with your email address at www.Gravatar.com and that avatar will be displayed on BallHyped.com.
