Banged-up Thrashers practicing Zach Bogosian at forward – is this a good plan?

Zach Bogosian was a healthy scratch Monday night in the Thrashers’ 3-2 shootout win over the Florida Panthers. He’s been looking a little lost recently, not playing or scoring what he probably could, and has become a bit of a punching bag for some fans. It’s going to be difficult for the 6’3″ defender to replicate the success of his truncated rookie campaign.

In 37 games his first year in the league, Bogosian was +11 with a line of 9-10-19. Last season, his +/- dropped off to an awful -18, but he was playing injured a sizable portion of that season, which probably hindered both his offensive and defensive output.
