Japan Earthquake: Sporting Events Canceled by Quake

It’s no surprise that sporting events across Japan have been canceled or postponed after a massive, 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit Japan on Friday, triggering tsunami warning across the Pacific, Hawaii and California.

Here’s the latest from the National Weather service.

Dozens of exhibition baseball games scheduled  or being played during the earthquake have been suspended, canceled or postponed after what is being called the strongest earthquake ever observed in the quake-prone archipelago by the Japan Meteorological Agency.

Sumo wrestling events as well as Saturday’s WBC women’s world title fights in Korakuen Hall in Tokyo have also been postponed.
