In what has been a mostly injury-free spring training so far, the D’Backs got some bad news on Sunday.
General manager Kevin Towers revealed Sunday morning that starter Zach Duke broke two bones in his pitching hand after being struck by a line drive in Saturday night’s game against Colorado. The good news is that the broken bones won’t acquire surgery and the lefty already has a cast on his hand. It will be about four weeks before Duke is able to pick up a ball with another 2-4 weeks of rehab in order to make sure the hand is 100 percent.
