The minute you heard that five-time All-Star second baseman Chase Utley was going to miss a significant portion of the 2011 baseball season with a nagging right knee injury, you had to know that the Phillies were going to sign somebody as his replacement.

Reports indicate that the Phillies are on the verge of signing second baseman Luis Castillo, who was released by the New York Mets this week.
