The 2011 Major League Baseball regular season is well underway, and an unfortunate part of Fantasy Baseball is the fact that there are injuries which occur along the way.
San Francisco Giants OF Andres Torres is dealing with what was referred to as a mild Achilles’ strain over the weekend. However, The Mercury News is now reporting that Torres is expected to miss the entire series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. That’s good news for Aaron Rowand, as he should man center field while Torres is on the mend. Grab Rowand in NL-only leagues if you need to fill an early hole.

In the much less serious department, New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez (flu) was scratched from the lineup Sunday at Boston due to flu-like symptoms. While that did Fantasy owners no favors Sunday, this isn’t something that is expected to linger on for long. Start A-Rod as you normally would, as he’ll have a scheduled day off Monday to get back to 100 percent.
In the good news category, a couple of Fantasy heavyweight pitchers sound like they’re making some pretty good progress in their recoveries.
