The Diamondbacks said on Thursday that Geoff Blum will need to have surgery on his bum right knee. Blum’s surgery won’t be microfracture like it was first feared. Having microfracture surgery would have had the third baseman out for several months instead of the six to eight weeks that he is expected to miss.
