Theo Epstein, general manager of the Boston Red Sox, put together a team who helped end the second longest World Series drought in Major League Baseball. After coming back from a nearly impossible three games to none deficit in the American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees in 2004, the Red Sox went on to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals to capture their first championship since 1918.
Now, Epstein does not deserve all of the credit for building the 2004 Red Sox, as well as the 2007 team that also won the World Series, but he deserves a lot.
