They’re here already: those damn, dirty bye weeks. With six teams taking the week off to put their feet up and sip drinks that are kept extra cool by tiny parasols, we’re going to be forced to rely on some pretty obscure names to fill out the Flex spot in deeper leagues.

Last week, I threw my support behind Randy McMichael. That decision was actually worse than when I publically endorsed Howard Dean. I’ve received your e-mails and you’re pissed. I get it. To put you all at ease, McMichael single handedly cost me in two different leagues as well. But, in fairness, the hulking tight end wasn’t all that far off from a big day. McMichael was second on the team in targets (6) with two of those coming in the endzone. So a bit of luck here and there, and it would have been a tremendous week. I bring this up, because all people seem to be focusing on is how McMike was worse than the time I got my head stuck in a tree. That’s it. Not that I hedged and pumped up Jared Cook, who came through in a big way. It goes to show that people only want to focus on the negative. This week, with the byes, both those guys may be forced into action again. So get used to them.
