ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting this morning that the Jacksonville Jaguars have fired head coach Jack Del Rio. Jack Del Rio was heading into the final year of his contract in 2012, and was given an ultimatum by ownership this season to reach the playoffs or else.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will not reach the playoffs this season and currently are inept on offense, based on terrible play from rookie QB Blaine Gabbert. Yesterday, despite benching Gabbert against the Houston Texans, Del Rio told the media that Gabbert would remain the starting quarterback of the Jacksonville Jaguars for the remainder of the season. The Jaguars are averaging 131 yards per game. Jacksonville has a current 3-8 overall record.
