The San Diego Chargers appeared to be on the brink of making another famous late season run towards the playoffs, however, that was before they traveled to Detroit on Christmas Eve. The Chargers looked completely lost while playing at Ford Field, losing to San Diego 38-10. The loss eliminated the Chargers from the playoffs for the second year in a row and casts serious doubt on the future of Norv Turner remaining with the team, especially with the rumors swirling around Bill Cowher growing louder.
In the last few days several outlets reported that the Chargers had already interviewed Bill Cowher. Several officials familiar with the inner workings of the Chargers organization have stated those reports are simply not true. The Chargers have told reporters no moves will be made this week. Team president Dean Spanos told reporters the team was “waiting until next week” when it comes to making a decision on the coaching staff.
