Free agent veteran CB Ronde Barber is undecided whether or not he wants to return to the NFL for a 16th season. Ronde Barber played under a one-year deal in 2011 and the veteran was very vocal regarding his support for former head coach, Raheem Morris. Morris was fired following a disappointing 2011 campaign and replaced by Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano.
Speaking to the Tampa Bay Times, Barber said he doesn’t know if the new coaching regime even wants him to return next season. “Things have to play themselves out, like they did last year. We’ll have a meeting of the minds, like we did last year, and if I fit in, we’ll go from there.” Barber continued, “I’m not allowing myself to lean one way or the other. I’m pretty sure where I stand, but I haven’t allowed myself to commit.”
