The Miami Marlins signed marquee free agent shortstop Jose Reyes with the intention of moving the team’s incumbent star, Hanley Ramirez, to third base. While it all sounded well and good, as new manager Ozzie Guillen figured that signing Reyes gave the Marlins a better chance to win and fill the seats, Ramirez is reportedly still not yet on board with changing positions.
The Marlins figured that they would go all in this offseason, as they signed Reyes, Heath Bell and Mark Buehrle, and also made a serious play for Albert Pujols. With the return of Josh Johnson from injury, as well as the rising stars including Mike Stanton and Logan Morrison, this Marlins team is expected to compete, and compete immediately.
Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria did not spend that much money to once again finish in third or fourth place in the National League East.
The problem is, all is not well already in the clubhouse, and Spring Training has not even started.
