After spending three days in Buffalo, a deal has finally been reached between DE Mario Williams and the Buffalo Bills franchise. It was widely believed that Williams would ink the highest free agency contract for a defensive player, and he did. Buffalo committed $100 million dollars to the pass rushing specialist, with $50 million dollars in the contract guaranteed.
Usually, first-tier free agents get massively overpaid and that is exactly what has happened in this case. Buffalo utilized a 3-4 defensive scheme last season and now are going to switch back to a 4-3 alignment. Buffalo finished last season ranked 28th against the run and 19th against the pass in a division which features just one elite quarterback, Tom Brady. Was this the best use of money for the Buffalo Bills moving forward?
