Future Hall of Fame catcher Ivan Rodriguez has announced his intent to retire from Major League Baseball, according to Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald.
Rodriguez, 40, has been unsigned since his two-year contract with the Washington Nationals expired following the conclusion of the 2011 season.
