Last week Ithaca, NY was filled with heavy hearts as we welcomed back the body of Corporal Christopher Bordoni, who died April 3rd after being critically injured by a roadside bomb this past January in Afghanistan. People lined the streets to welcome back our fallen hero. The normal anti-war tenor of the area melted away with few exceptions. It is possible to be anti-war and pro-soldier. You can slot me in that category.
Before game 4 of the Los Angeles Kings vs. Vancouver Canucks, Cpl Bordoni’s family were recognized in a pre-game ceremony. Kings captain Dustin Brown is from Ithaca and was related to Cpl Bordoni through marriage. The Kings organization should be commended for honoring the family of this fallen hero.
