Philadelphia Phillies place SP Cliff Lee on DL with oblique strain

The Philadelphia Phillies have placed left handed pitcher Cliff Lee on the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique muscle.

The injury came when Lee pitched 10 shutout innings against the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night. He became the first major leaguer since 2007 to pitch double-digit innings in a game but he paid the price, as he likely suffered the strain in the later innings. (Interestingly enough, Lee threw just 102 pitches in that game, a total he exceeded 19 times in 2011.)
