Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson won the fans vote to appear on the cover of the Madden ’13 cover vote. That is the good news for his fans. Unfortunately, for fans of the Lions, that is also the bad news, as they now have to begin to worry about the dreaded Madden cover curse.

This is not a myth. It has replaced the Sports Illustrated cover jinx. The Madden cover curse is real, folks, and if you still don’t believe me, then take a look at some its’ past victims.
