The Falcons went a bit off the board in the third round as they selected offensive tackle Lamar Holmes of Southern Miss. Earlier, the Falcons had traded down in the draft as they gave up their #83 overall pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for the #91 and #164 picks.

Clearly the Falcons are addressing their biggest need from last year, protecting Matt Ryan. ........
