Jets compare WR Stephen Hill to WR Calvin Johnson

The New York Jets needed to add some speed to their receiving corps this offseason and with their selection of Georgia Tech WR Stephen Hill, they did just that. There is no denying the speed that Hill possesses but he has a very limited college career and finished last season with just 28 receptions.

New York Jets vice president of scouting compares Hill to another large, physical and speedy receiver currently in the NFL, Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson. “He’s unique. He’s a 6’4″ kid that’s 215 pounds and runs a 4.32. He’s a unique athlete. He really is. I mean…Calvin Johnson maybe. I’m not going to put that label on him but from a weight, height and speed standpoint, he’s just a unique athlete.”
