Dallas Mavericks v. Oklahoma City Thunder
The experts have all given the usual, “Remember, last year at this time everyone was doubting the Mavs…”. Well, last year the Mavericks were in much better shape. The loss of Tyson Chandler was big as it was his presence in the paint – along with Dirk’s out-of-body-experience scoring – that catapulted the Mavs to the Finals & the Championship. This year’s Mavericks seem to be playing with little to no heart…
… And what heart they have left, Durant & Co. are about to tear out. The Thunder are on a mission. They are very aware of the fact that they are perceived as a flashy team that might not have enough to win it all. Taking out the defending champs would be a big exclamation point for this team & I don’t think they’ll miss the opportunity to make that point.
