NFL Draft Breakdown-Kansas City Chiefs

NFL Draft Breakdown-Kansas City Chiefs

Hyped by on April 28, 2012 Website: www.thepigskinreport.com

The AFC West in 2012 could be up for grabs, and the Kansas City Chiefs might just be the team which snatches the division title. One year removed from a playoff berth and a 2011 tumultuous season under head coach Todd Haley, the Chiefs under Romeo Crennel could reach post-season play in 2012. If Crennel can get 2010-like production out of QB Matt Cassel, the Chiefs make a strong push for the division title.

Kansas City had a solid three-day NFL draft but in 2012 they will get S Eric Berry, TE Tony Moeaki, and RB Jamaal Charles back into their starting lineup. Knowing that those three players will be back and having a full slate of draft picks allows you to perhaps go out and make a reach with your first-round selection which is a player with tremendous upside but comes with bad college film.

The Kansas City Chiefs went out and selected Memphis DT Dontari Poe with the 11th pick in the first round, a player which wowed those of us which watched the NFL Combine. If coachable, Poe could become one of the most disruptive forces in the NFL, it’s all up to the Chiefs at this point.
