After months of speculation as to when Detroit Lions RB Jahvid Best might return to the field, it was reported on Tuesday that Best could finally return to the field in mid-June. Lions general manager Martin Mayhew told WJR-AM radio he envisions June as the return of Best to practice.
“He’s been doing everything in the off-season program, and we expect he’ll be cleared sometime probably in June. We look forward to having him on the field,” said Mayhew. Mayhew went on to state that the move to wait until June simply gives Best additional time. The general manager also stated that Best could be participating in the non-contact drills that the Lions are undergoing right now.
