Last season, the Minnesota Vikings played QB Joe Webb at a variety of positions, but heading into 2012, the Vikings plan on keeping Webb only at the quarterback position. Webb, a highly athletic football player, has been utilized as a reciver and the team’s wildcat quarterback but the team plans to head into the regular season with Webb concentrating soley on being Christian Ponder’s backup.
On Wednesday, when asked by reporters about the team’s decision, Webb responded, “It’s a great role to have. Any time you can concentrate on one position, that’s always a positive.” Webb continued, “But at the same time, I want to be able to do whatever I can to help the team win. Any chance I can get to get on the field, I want to help the offense move the chains and score points. But right now, I’m just focusing on quarterback.”
