This draft—the first of Emery’s kin—was odd, exciting and infuriating. I was certain Emery was taking a pass rusher with that first pick and he did…just not Shea McClellen. Interesting since David DeCastro was on the board and fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who again luck their way into quality players nearly every first round.
But that’s really the essence of drafting: a conviction in your scouting and the player you believe who will help your team.
