The Milwaukee Brewers knew that they would have a difficult time replicating last year’s magical season, especially due to the departure of Prince Fielder through free agency to the Detroit Tigers. But just over one month into the 2012 MLB season, injuries are starting to pile up, and the Brewers are being forced to decide early whether they are going to become early buyers or sellers prior to the trade deadline.
Milwaukee already occupies last place in the National League Central, which, even with the loss of Fielder, nobody expected. The St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds were preseason favorites in the eyes of many people, including myself, but not many people would have predicted that the Brewers would also find themselves behind the Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago Cubs.
