It is just the way I saw it falling out. (Only not really). The Los Angeles Kings against the Phoenix Coyotes for the right to play for Lord Stanley’s Cup. Who didn’t have this match up penciled in back in April?
It is very surprising to have a horse left in this race that I’m actively rooting for. Growing up a Sabres fan it is all too familiar to be rooting for some other team at this point in the playoffs, but usually it was about the lesser of two evils. This time it is Kings or bust.
Dustin Brown has to bring the Cup to Ithaca. It is a long overdue moment for my hands to touch the Cup. My kids, without a team to call their own since Pegula poisoned the Sabres with fracking dollars need a connect to the sport I still love. It would be a moment that may provide a team for us to root for together. My daughter Anna would definitely be all in for some throwback purple and gold Kings gear.... (More)
