Following Kerry Wood's incredible rookie season for the Chicago Cubs in 1998, one might have thought that he would retire 15 or 20 years later with close to 300 victories, 3000 strikeouts, and a couple of Cy Young awards.

Not exactly.

Wood, 34, has announced that he will make one more relief appearance in a major league game, and then he will retire.
