The Boston Globe reported yesterday that the New England Patriots held a workout for veteran tight end Dallas Clark on Friday. A team filled with receiving options and three highly qualified tight ends, I imagine this was nothing more than a virtual tire kicking workout so the Patriots could determine where he was physically in case the need to fill a roster position because of injury in the future.
Clark’s skill set has dropped off significantly in the past few seasons and he has been dealing with nagging injuries, only appearing in 17 games in the last two seasons. Only once in his career has Clark appeared in a full 16-games season.
