Why The Bulls Won’t Amnesty Carlos Boozer

I know it is a popular opinion that is being shouted from the rooftops by many Bulls fans.

They are screaming for Gar Foreman to use the amnesty clause to cut Carlos Boozer free. What that means is that Boozer will become a free agent and while the Bulls still must pay the remainder of his salary it will not count against the salary cap.

Boozer is owed nearly $50 million over the final three years of his deal. That is a lot of money to pay someone to go away and play for another team, especially considering that he is healthy.
