Injuries continue to plague the New York Giants

The New York Giants will enter the 2012 NFL season trying to defend their Super Bowl title, but they might be without one of their offensive stars to start the season. WR Hakeem Nicks broke his fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot at workouts this afternoon and will have to undergo surgery tomorrow in order to have a screw inserted in his foot.

According to various media sources this afternoon, Nicks will miss 12 weeks at an optimistic estimate without any complications. That time table would see Nicks return around mid-August for the Giants.
