The US Soccer [Football] team and Scotland had the following record when the match commenced.
The US Soccer team under Jurgen Klinsmann had 5-4-1 in wins, losses, and ties. Scotland had 9-6-3 in the same area.
The US Soccer team under Jurgen Klinsmann faced Scotland on May 26, 2012. The match was held at Ever Bank Field located at Jacksonville, Florida to a roaring crowd who wanted to celebrate Memorial Day.
The people flew flags of the USA, US Soccer, as well as signs of support such as the one which says United We Stand. The US Soccer team did not disappoint the crowd and went into action immediately.
The first half started with Landon Donovan kicking the ball into the right field into the left side of the net. After a second attempt, Donovan netted the first goal of the match in three minutes.
The Stars and Stripes were on a roll especially when Michael Bradley was able to sneak another goal with a direct kick into the center of the net. This happened within 11 minutes.
The Scots were not going to allow the USA to score more goals. Kenny Miller replied with a stunning goal within the center in 15 minutes for Scotland. The heat was definitely on in the North Coast with Scotland playing a 4-3-3 formation.
The USA started with a 4-2-2 formation and switched to a 4-3-3 formation. The US Soccer team showed versatility in the field.
The US Soccer team and Scotland entertained the bleachers with some great football. The people were not deceived but the final whistle blew and both teams went into halftime.
The result in the first half was USA 2-1 Scotland.
The second half began as an exciting continuation of the first half. Bardsley of Scotland trips Jose Torres of the USA. The result is a free kick for Jose Torres.
The Scottish goalkeeper trips another player from the US Soccer team and the referee does nothing. At one point, Donovan is letting it rip on the field and almost scores a goal in the process.
Donovan finally nets it by kicking the ball into the left side after being in an attack mode. Donovan scores another goal within 65 minutes with the right foot from the right angle towards the left side of the goal post.
Jermaine Jones scored the fifth goal for the USA leaving Scotland out in the cold with its only point. Scotland attempted to control the loss without any success.
The match continued with Donovan and the US electrifying Jacksonville until the final bell.
It appears that the US Soccer team has advanced under Jurgen Klinsmann. It remains to be seen whether they can maintain the momentum.
The most valued player of the USA VS Scotland match is Landon Donovan for his electrifying play.
