Confirmed by Houston Fox Sports Mark Berman, the Houston Texans have also signed former Dallas Cowboys safety Alan Ball. Once again defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is bringing in one of his former players in Ball who spent 4 seasons under Phillips as the Cowboys head coach.
Ball came to the Cowboys in the 2007 NFL draft out of Illinois when he was drafted in the 7th round (237th overall). At 6-2 and 197 lbs. the 27-year-old has appeared in 60 games for the Cowboys were he posted 126 total tackles with 3 interceptions and 14 pass deflections. It seems that many of the hold overs from the Phillips roster to the 2011 team are on their way out, and Ball is joining his former teammate from Dallas in Bradie James.
