Phillies lose second baseman Freddy Galvis to fractured back

The news that Freddy Galvis has been placed on the disabled list has just gotten worse for the Philadelphia Phillies, as the team learned today that Galvis has a Paers fracture in his lower spine that could cause him to miss up to two months of play.

He will get a second opinion and if the spine is cracked, he will be placed in a back brace. He will also need a significant amount of rest.
