After practically every streak the Giants had going were snapped last night, they will get a clean slate today against the hated Mat Latos. Barry Zito will oppose him, hoping to pick up where he left off against the Dodgers earlier this week.
Can Barry Zito Contain the Reds Entire Offense?
Current Reds' are hitting a combined lofty .307 off Zito as a group. Yes, as a group. However, Zito is coming off of a performance that silenced the critics for five days, but the meter is up and Zito will face a Reds team that can hit the long ball even in the spacious AT&T Park.
The main players Zito has to be careful with are Brandon Phillips (7-17, one homerun), Drew Stubbs (5-11), and Todd Friazer (2-3, one homerun). Of course Joey Votto is always dangerous, but he's (3-15) off Zito lifetime, so we will see if those numbers come into play.
