Jonathon Sanchez Designated for Assignment

Brian Sabean must be laughing his head off right now.

The Kansas City Royals have designated pitcher Jonathon Sanchez for assignment. Sanchez, of course, was acquired in the deal that sent Melky Cabrera to the Giants.

You all know the story by now: Cabrera leads the majors in hitting and was the MVP of the All-Star Game, while Sanchez is 1-6 with a 7.66 ERA this season.

This might go down as the greatest trade in the Sabean era, as the Giants absolutely committed highway robbery against the Royals.
