Game 1: Barry Zito (7-6, 4.01) vs. Jair Jurrjens (3-2, 4.97 ERA)
The Giants pitching on the road has been bad, really bad, and Barry Zito has been no different. Despite posting a 1.35 ERA in his first three road starts, his last five road starts have been quite the opposite as he’s 2-3 with a very high 8.49 ERA, and opponents are hitting .354 off the him.
Zito will have to perform better than his numbers show in Tuesday’s outing because the Braves are riding high. They have won seven straight games and during their winning streak they have a +21 run differential and are averaging 6.1 runs per game.
However, Zito has some stats working in his favor as well. In his career at Turner field, Zito is 3-0 with a 2.08 ERA, his seventh lowest ERA out of all stadiums. Opponents have hit just .178 against Zito at Turner Field too.
