One year after winning the Stanley Cup, the Boston Bruins may be mentioned in hockey circles more the following offseason, one in which the team was eliminated in a first round upset at the hands of the Washington Capitals. But while many people want Boston to make a lot of major moves to get the team back to the promised land, the Bruins feel as if they already have the pieces in place to make another run this upcoming NHL season.
What that means is that nobody should expect Boston to make a serious run at trading for Bobby Ryan of the Anaheim Ducks or Rick Nash of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Not unless either of their asking prices becomes much more along the lines of what the Bruins may be willing to pay. Right now, the two sides aren’t even close.
