Buster Posey continued his great road trip against the Phillies ace, Cole Hamels on Saturday afternoon.

Posey entered the game hitting .467 (7-15) on the road trip with five RBIs. Most noticeably, he’s been the lone Giant whose been producing with runners in scoring position, as he’s been hitting at a .322 clip with RISP over his last 11 games.

His battery mate, Matt Cain didn’t have his sharp stuff against the Phillies, though. The three-time All-Star struck out Jimmy Rollins to start the game, but two batters later, Chase Utley crushed a hanging breaking ball into the second deck, giving his Phillies the lead 1-0 early.

However, the combination of Cain and Posey put the Giants on top in the third with the long ball. Cain led off the inning with a solo homerun, and three batters later Posey took Hamels deep for a two-run homer which put San Francisco on top, 3-1.

Posey, who came into the game hitting .381 with four homeruns off left-handed pitching, continued his success against southpaws on Saturday with three hits off Hamels, including his 12th homerun of the season.
