The A's have acquired shortstop Stephen Drew from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for minor league infielder Sean Jamieson.
Drew is having his worst year of his career, batting just .193 with two home runs in 40 games. He has yet to regain his stride after recovering from an ankle fracture.
However, Drew will be able to play for his former manager Bob Melvin in Oakland. Melvin managed the Diamondbacks from 2005-2009.
For his seven-year career, Drew is batting .266 with 72 home runs.
