What a breakout year it was for Victor Cruz as his success has likely changed the way teams view the slot position. Cruz will be transitioning to playing on the outside this year, and that’s a significant point to keep in mind because 75% of his receptions for 77% of his yardage came from the slot last season.
However, that doesn’t mean the Giants won’t use Cruz in the slot, as GM Jerry Reese has noted Cruz will lineup inside in three and four receiver sets. Translation for fantasy owners; Cruz will just be on the field more this year, because most of his snaps last year (when Mario Manningham was healthy) came when the team was in three and four receiver sets.
