Eli Manning’s recent statistics certainly aren’t indicative of the play that won him two super bowls in the past five seasons, but he has much more than himself to blame for his current slump.
After a red hot start that saw Manning lead the NFL in passing yards through six weeks, the quarterback has posted his three lowest passer ratings of the season in the past three games against the Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Although Eli threw two interceptions against the Redskins, he still managed to amass 337 passing yards, his second highest mark in a game this season. He also delivered a clutch 77-yard touchdown pass to Victor Cruz to win the game in the final minutes. His passer rating suffered mostly from getting only one touchdown compared to two interceptions.
