As soon as the Kansas City Chiefs released cornerback Stanford Routt, many did not believe that it would take the free agent too long to find a new team. As he has now cleared waivers, it appears to be a matter of when he will choose his next team, although there seems to be no shortage of suitors.
Routt is in a win-win situation as things stand. His release from Kansas City may have been the best thing that could have happened to him, as he can collect the rest of the money owed to him this season by the Chiefs, as well as choose another team to sign with for the remainder of 2012. That can be any team, and perhaps one that Routt can help reach the postseason and beyond.
