NCAA Football Rumors: Miami Hurricanes Self Impose Second Straight Postseason Ban

NCAA Football Rumors: Miami Hurricanes Self Impose Second Straight Postseason Ban

Hyped by on November 19, 2012 Website: www.thepigskinreport.com

The Miami Hurricanes were not only bowl eligible for the 2012 NCAA Football season, but with one more win against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, the ‘Canes could have been playing for the ACC Championship against the Florida State Seminoles in less than two weeks. Thanks to an ongoing investigation by the NCAA for multiple violations, the Hurricanes have self imposed a postseason ban for the second straight season, meaning not only will they play in the ACC Championship Game, but they will forfeit any opportunity to play in any bowl game once again this year.

So much for getting excited, ‘Canes’ fans. Miami will not be playing in a bowl game again this season and, once they are hot with penalties from the NCAA, it may be another year or two before you see the Hurricanes playing in any sort of postseason game.
