It once seemed like a foregone conclusion that the Big East conference would expand out west, adding the likes of the Boise State Broncos, BYU Cougars and San Diego State Aztecs to change the college football landscape even further. That move may be on hold, however, as all three schools are now rumored to be looking into returning to the Mountain West Conference.
This speculation comes on the heels of learning the two more teams may be close to bolting from the Big East, with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights heading to the Big 10 and the Connecticut Huskies leaving for the ACC. If both of these moves happen within the next three years, it is unlikely that any of the other three schools would want to join the Big East.
