Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Mike Patterson has been hospitalized with viral pneumonia and will not play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, according to reports from CSNPhilly.com.
Patterson's pneumonia has nothing to do with his offseason brain surgery, which was the result of complications from a seizure he suffered during training camp in 2011. Patterson will undergo more tests, said trainer Rick Burkholder.
