The Dallas Cowboys will have a difficult decision to make concerning the future playing status of No. 1 wide receiver Dez Bryant, as it was revealed that he suffered an injured left index finger during Sunday’s emotional come from behind victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. It appears as if the finger is broken, although the further extent of the injury is still not yet known.
If the finger does require surgery, it would sideline Bryant for the rest of the 2012 season, as it is not simply a pain tolerance issue. By continuing to play without having the finger repaired, if that is indeed the case as far as what is necessary, Bryant could risk further damage to the finger. That is something that the Cowboys will not allow to happen, as Bryant has had his breakout season as this year has progressed.
