Out to dinner the other night I heard something that’s been going around this city like the flu lately. One guy turned to his buddy he was eating with and said, “Man, have you seen Melo this season? He’s been unbelievable. Totally changed his game for the betterment of the team”.
I almost spit out my food. But because I was with my girlfriend and it was, “date night”, I kept chewing and let it pass. This was not the time nor the place to engage in a sports argument with the guys at the next table, even if what they were saying was totally wrong.
Right as I was letting the moment pass, Melo drove right and forced the defense to collapse when he threw a pass to the corner where JR Smith was waiting patiently and drained a wide open three.
“SEE! What did I tell you!!!” screamed the guy to his friend.
