The Detroit Lions have had a very disappointing season, after finally reaching the NFL Playoffs last season. A repeat trip to the postseason is not in the cards, but that dos not mean that all is lost in the Motor City. They still have something – or someone – to play for over the final three games of the season.
Calvin Johnson is looking to accomplish something that no other wide receiver has been able to to since 1995, when Jerry Rice set the single season receiving yards record with 1,848. That means that Randy Moss couldn’t do it. Terrell Owens couldn’t do it. Marvin Harrison couldn’t do it. Larry Fitzgerald couldn’t do it. Nobody could break that record.
That is, except for Johnson.
