The New England Patriots continue to fight for a first round bye in the AFC Playoffs this postseason, currently trailing the Denver Broncos by one game with two games remaining in the regular season. Although the Patriots do hold the tiebreaker advantage over the Broncos, having defeated them earlier this season, it may be difficult to catch them. New England finishes with rather easy games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins, but Denver only has to face the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs.
In all likelihood, the Patriots will wind up as the No. 3 seed, with the slight possibility that they could drop to No. 4 if they lose to either the Jaguars or Dolphins, although that is highly unlikely. New England will wrap up the third seed and host a first round wild card game against one of any handful of teams still fighting for one of the final two spots in this season’s NFL Playoffs.
